  2. SYMPTOMS in an infant may include blisters on the mouth, soles, nose, palms
  3. and diaper area and generalized lymph node enlargement. Other signs may
  4. include a failure to thrive, enlarged liver and spleen, convulsions, mental
  5. retardation, meningitis and bloodstained or pus-laden discharge.
  6. CAUSES by the mother passing along infection to the fetus.
  7. TREATMENT. Antibiotics and other treatment.
